Dear Parents, April 18, 2008

We have completed our ITBS testing. I’m very proud of all the students as they took each test very seriously. Having completed the Kansas Math and Reading Assessments in the weeks prior to this one means we have completed all the required standardized testing for this school year.

Hope Lutheran School is continuing to celebrate its 25 year anniversary with some upcoming events. The first is the “2.5” mile walk to Listowell Park and back next Friday at 12:30. This involves the entire student population. If you have not yet sent in the permission slip that was sent home last week, please do so.

Our big event which includes not only Hope Lutheran Church and School people, but anyone you may want to bring, is our 25th anniversary school carnival. This is on Saturday, April 26th. It begins at 4:00 p.m. There will be several activities for all ages of kids along with a variety of food. Please join us for fun and fellowship.

We have also been collecting supplies that will go into global care packages sent through the Lutheran Hour Ministries and the Orphan Grain Train. Fifth grade has been assigned “markers.” If you are able please send in a package or two of colored markers. We have only collected four packs of markers at the present time. The goal is….you guessed it!! 25!!

This is a late but heart-filled thank you, thank you, thank you, for the class gift card to me to Bass Pro Shop for my birthday. Some of you know how well I enjoy going fishing so I guess the word got around. A special thank you also for the bouquet of flowers, my Lee slacks, candles, candle holders, and the several birthday cards I received from so many of you.

During this time of year I am reminded of Philippians 1: 3-6, so I will close with that. Remembering all of you through Jesus…..
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because we are all a partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

My love and prayers will continue.
