 August 20           Luther’s Morning Prayer

I thank You my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger.

 

August 27            And I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You.

 

September 3       For into Your hands I commend myself, my body     

                            and soul, and all things.  Let Your holy angel be  

                            with me, that the evil foe may have no power over

                            me.  Amen

 

September 10      The First Commandment

                             You shall have no other gods.

                             1 John 5:21  Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

 

September 17      Mathew 28:19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

 

September 24      Psalm 96:4  Great is the Lord and most worthy of     praise; He is to be feared above all gods.

 

October 1             Romans 8:28  We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.

   

October 8             Philippians 2:13 It is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.

 

October 15           The Second Commandment

                             You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.

                             Exodus 20:7  The Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name.

 
 October 22           Ephesians 5:20  Give thanks to God the Father for 

                             everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

October 29           The Third Commandment

                             Remember the Sabbath Day by keeping it holy.

                             Psalm 26:8  I love the house where You live, O Lord, the place where Your glory dwells.

 

November 5         Mark 16:15  He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”

 

November 12       The Fourth Commandment

                             Honor your father and mother.

                             Colossians 3:20  Children obey your parents and other authorities in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

 

November 19       The Fifth Commandment

                             You shall not murder.

                             Acts 17:25  He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.
